ソロアーティストとしてマイペースな活動を続け、2009年にはDVD『2008 Butterfly Effect +』、人気ブランド“Roen”とのコラボシングル「時化 -Elements of Foundation Limited Edition-」、そして全国ツアー＜LIVE TOUR 2009 Elements of Foundation＞と、活発に動いているINORANが、2010年も元気に始動する。
それが、1月24日に新木場Studio Coastで開催されるライヴ＜The Premium Showcase Connectivity '10 - Sessions with Candle JUNE -＞だ。2回目となるこのコラボレーションライヴに、今回は世界で平和の灯を灯し続けるアーティストCandle JUNEを迎えて行なわれる。
Candle JUNEは、2001年に広島で「平和の火」を灯してから、「Candle Odyssey」と称する争いのあった地を巡る旅を開始したアーティスト。ギャラリーやサロンなどでエキジビションを開催。LOUIS VUITTON、PRADAなどのレセプションパーティのデコレーションや様々なファッションショー、＜フジロックフェス＞をはじめとする野外フェス、またベン・ハーパー、ニール・ヤング、M.M.Wなどのライヴステージに空間演出で参加するなど、世界中で活発に活動している。INORANとのコラボでどのような感動を生み出してくれるのか、ファンならずとも興味深いライヴになりそうだ。
また、INORANは、3月10日には前作『apocalypse』から約1年半ぶりとなる ソロ通算6枚目のオリジナルアルバム『Watercolor』のリリースが決定。最新シングル「時化」や、＜Connectivity＞で初披露される予定の新曲のライヴ音源も収録。さらに新曲のPVを収録したDVDも付くということで、ファンには嬉しい内容になるようだ。
さて、そのINORANだが、2009年12月29日に渋谷WOMBでトークイベント＜NO NAME? PRIVATES? #10＞を行なった。その模様を映像で大公開中だ。年末も押し迫った時期、WOMBには満員のファンが集まりINORANが舞台でいろいろな質問に答えるイベント。会場からの質問にも気さくに反応し、和やかなムードで終始した。雰囲気を味わってほしい。

From early on I liked candles, whether it was for live shows, recording, writing songs, or in my private time. Regardless, candles have always been important and dear to me.
I am not sure why it started out that way. It is more than just an association of healing, or the power to heal, nevertheless, the fire and its effervescence is something unpredictable, something wholly organic. There is this sense that it gives us that something extra, the unknowable, that feeling of something important which is always mysteriously intangible. Without realizing it, the associations and references have been imbedded into my consciousness.
Then, an acquaintance of mine introduced me to Candle June.
I first heard the story of Candle June from a mutual friend, when I participated in events during the summer and winter solstice and some other events... He was someone that captured my curiosity which prepared the groundwork for our eventual meeting.
Before I had the opportunity to meet him, I wanted to find out for myself as I felt deeply compelled, pushed by some force, to know more about him. When I did, I realized just how tremendous he was. In all seriousness, this is how I feel.
When I suggested doing this event together, he agreed. My optimism and anticipation grew ever larger after meeting him, as we were being able to talk and share ideas together. I am grateful I had the opportunity.
Furthermore, the activities he is involved with and his personhood, I cannot properly put into words. I would not be able to stop, even if I tried, as there would be too much to say. Let us just say, it would not end in an evening. I would really like you to feel his message, read his book, and understand the candle light act. Anyhow, I am terrible happy to be able to do this together with him. The mere thought of it overwhelms me.
Anything is fine. This time together, in common bond, even if it is a brief moment, is important. I am itching to play for you the new song. Turn it on and groove to it. Groove to it. I cannot help but to wish for this, this sprawling out into space and into the hearts and minds of all of us at the right moment. For someone like me whose time is limited, it is dear, like the starting line all over again.
I want you to see this stage by your eyes.
